Dream Man Out of Reach | NO LUCK in Love?
Real or apparent unattainability of (dream) men Making the impossible possible: is your dream man out of reach?
Who doesn't picture him: The One, the only true one. Tall, slim, athletic, or maybe better a cozy, easygoing type who enjoys life? In any case, he should have a sense of humor, get along with his family and have healthy relationships with his own friends (we naturally like his friends too, and they are not total losers), earn a living, be tidy and every now and then give us a flower or two or a little piece of jewelry "just because". One day, absent-mindedly flipping through a magazine, a headline caught my eye: Dream man out of reach. The topic wouldn't let go of me. Why would anyone take away all hope so bluntly, the hope of ever finding your own personal dream man? As if they were untouchable mythical creatures hiding in the depths of the sea.
Dream Man Out of Reach - Hope, Please
The fact is that whether a dream man is out of reach or not, every woman defines him differently. Each would look different, and while you could assign them some shared qualities, every woman wants a touch of one quality and then a bit more of another. Take a striking example: the result of a worldwide survey in 2018 on wearing one or more tattoos showed that around 48 percent of Italians and around 36 percent of Germans said they had at least one tattoo. In Israel, meanwhile, one in four said they were tattooed. For one woman, that may be an absolute deal-breaker; for others (myself included), it is more a reason why the date with my inevitable dream man would be out of reach. So why this harsh statement, dream man out of reach? It stabs me right in the heart. It would be as if my grandmother had once claimed that Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, God and everything else worth living for were dead.
Dream Man Out of Reach - There's Another Way
That a dream man is out of reach is something I can nevertheless understand to some degree. With my psychology glasses on, I would confirm that even the most experienced women sometimes place demands and expectations on the world of men that are considered impossible to meet. In that case, I would say that it is not (dream) men who are out of reach, but what is demanded of them. I am not talking about rescuing children from burning cars or the like, but let's be honest for a moment: if we could, he would be a mix of Leonardo DiCaprio and Batman. But this confuses dream men with unrealistic perfectionism.Aren't the special quirks and rough edges exactly what makes a dream man? The opposites that attract us to the other person? I have to admit there are opposites that just don't work at all (for example, when men don't understand irony... What is wrong with them?!), but still, a calm partner can settle an energetic opposite or, the other way around, activate them and draw them out of their shell. Besides, ladies, we always have to ask ourselves the counter-question: Are dream women within reach? Think about it.
